MSA Latchways Ladder Lifeline Kits

The Latchways Vertical Lifeline

Definition

The Latchways Ladder Lifeline Systems provide workers with the security of being constantly attached to the structure while also having both hands free for climbing

Components

Extension Post (optional)

Extension Posts are necessary for ladders where the top rung does not give the necessary clearance required to step on to the surface area. The user will need additional height for the fixed ladder in order to step onto the surface area and detach properly.

Attachment device

  • The Latchways LadderLatch climbing device is a device for use on all Latchways vertical systems.
  • It incorporates the unique starwheel, allowing the unit to pass over cable supports without the need to detach.
  • It includes an anti-inversion mechanism so the device cannot be connected to the cable upside down.
  • It can be attached and detached at any point in the system

Features

  • Unobtrusive and lightweight.
  • Up to four users on a single system.
  • Fall arrest devices can be attached or detached at any point in the system.
  • The patented Constant Force Energy absorber can be built directly into the system to protect the end anchors from excessive loads should a fall occur.
  • Quick to install and easy to maintain.
  • Rung mounted systems can be installed on different rung shapes, including round, square, diamond and U-shaped.
  • Works with hoop/cage ladders.

Durability

Made of High Grade 316 Marine Grade Stainless allows for 15 – 20 years lifespan in corrosive environments

Proof tested by 3rd parties:

  • Accelerated corrosion testing equivalent to 30 years of weathering (EA Technology, Capenhurst)
  • Wind tunnel testing to assess aerodynamic performance and fatigue failures of the system (Cranfied University)
  • Cyclic vibration testing assess durability of the system (Ribe, Schwabach)

The Latchways Vertical Lifeline can be installed for use in virtually all environments and is not affected by snow, ice or adverse weather conditions.
