Workers who use personal fall protection systems while climbing or working vertically can use rope grabs and vertical rope lifelines to provide a point of attachment. The rope lifeline comes in many configurations. By rope grabs, lanyards connect to lifelines. Hand-held rope grabs (or fixed rope grabs) must be moved as necessary. Trailing rope grabs stop when fall pressure is sensed. As the worker moves, they follow him freely.
